There are 9 native dogs of Ireland. They are:
- Two Hounds – Irish Wolfhound and Kerry Beagle
- Three Gundogs – Irish Water Spaniel, Irish Red Setter, Irish Red and White Setter,
- Four Terriers Irish Terrier, Glen of Imaal Terrier, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and Kerry Blue.
